Hi Dee dear,
Umm, I am one of the gardeners who tells others NOT TO BUY and set loose the praying mantis in their gardens to “control” other insects. They’ll “control” them into oblivion.
Love,
Sharon
Dee Nash
I agree, Sharon, I wouldn’t suggest anyone buy praying mantis. This one came here on its own. Of course, it’s the one bug who will take on an assassin bug (wheel bug), so I figure they will cancel each other out. I hope.

it’s what makes the world go round and round again…life and death all in one frame. great capture.

WOW! I cannot believe how gorgeous your susans are in September! Beautiful!
Lisa at Greenbow
Great shot. Isn’t it amazing to watch a mantis eat its prey.
Donna
I always marvel at nature. Such drama, a tear for the skipper. Great catch, BTW.
Meredith
Ay yay yay! Great shot, Dee. That’s the way it is out there, it’s true. I wonder, are we gardeners more accepting of this truth? 🙂
Leslie
Nature can be so cruel but that’s the way it is. Wonderful photo Dee!
Cindy, MCOK
Sniff, sniff … poor little skipper!
joey
Perfect, Dee! Happy September 🙂
Monica the Garden Faerie
That is a good one! I wish something would eat all grasshoppers…
Carol
And that skipper was dying for you to use that photo, too.
Frances
Amazing capture Dee! Poor little flutterby, but life can be harsh, or death for that matter.

I can see why … it is a wonderful photo Dee! Tragic for the Skipper! Amidst all the sunny susans … such drama. Great capture! ;>)
