Crystalline surfaces

Ah, blessed rain fell all day Easter Sunday, and thick fog layered itself over the garden this morning.

Rosa 'Carefree Beauty' nodding in the raind

Although the roses bow their heads, they are thankful for the moisture.

Raindrops on the very large leaves of Rudbeckia maxima (giant coneflower)

Raindrops definitely are the order of the day creating creating silver, crystalline surfaces on foliage and flower.

Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' (smoketree)

A flash of mercury highlights if you please.

'Angel Cheeks' peony not fully open due to the rain.

I know the farmers are rejoicing in the fields. Now, Lord, if we could just a bit more in say a week?

Clematis 'Huvi' is a water runway right now.

Thank you.

Beautifully written, Dee, and delighted for you and your garden. We on the other hand have had more than our share of heavy spring rains, again all day today. Not complainin’ but cold/wet and miss working in the spring garden, my favorite time of year.

There’s nothing more beautiful than the effect of raindrops in the garden. So glad that you have received some much-needed rain.

I am so happy that your garden had the blessing of rain. One day I hope mine will, too.

Rain is a blessing to the parched earth and those who till the soil. Fog and raindrops make a special kind of magic in the garden, which you’ve captured so perfectly.

Lovely raindrops on the leaves and flowers. I have to keep reminding myself that another grey, rainy day is AT LEAST not another snowy one 🙂 So I should be grateful.

Dee, I know you are happy since your garden is happy. Our poor garden has had 4inches in 4 days and it continues to rain. I am happy I got a few plants split and replanted just before the rain set in. No end in sight though. I might start building an ark.

Dee, There’s a cleansing look that a garden has after a refreshing rain~You’re garden flowers wear it well. I do hope that this “priming of the raining pump’ works and you continue to get regular showers. xxoogail

I love the fragrance in the air after a good soaking rain on parched soil. The flowers are rejoicing.

Me too Layanee. The frogs were croaking love songs, and the birds accompanying them with beautiful trills. It was fun to go out there and just “be.”
