Bloom Day dawned with more rain and fog. We are covered in a misty, gray morning for the second week in a row, and it’s starting to effect people’s moods. My suggestion for this is a full spectrum light bulb found at most hardware stores. Sit beneath it for thirty minutes each day to chase away the blues. Also, be sure to incorporate some exercise into your day. You will feel better, and you want to stay strong for spring.
Unlike the humans, the garden, excepting the two new agaves, is loving all the rain. Even in October, it remains beautiful, but now needs a closer view to appreciate its loveliness.
In an effort to speed my post, I only used common names in the movie. I hope you don’t mind. Let’s all thank Carol from May Dreams Gardens for dreaming up and hosting bloom day every month. She created it after reading “We can have flowers nearly every month of the year,” written by Elizabeth Lawrence

Everything looks pretty good there! Our roses have not done well due to all the rain we’ve had in the past 4 weeks. But yours look great. At least we’ve got some beautiful sunshine today!
Sweet Bay
I loved your movie. The salvias and the roses are beautiful. I especially like the shot of the Mexican Bush Sage — gorgeous. And the sunflower too. It’s called Table Rock Sunflower?
Dee Nash
Thanks so much. It’s Table Rock Mountain Sunflower.~~Dee
kerri
So many Salvias…all lovely. I want to try them all! The roses too.
The slide show was a nice change (clever girl!) and the music brightened my evening.
Happy 2nd blogiversary, Dee! I’m so glad to be able to enjoy your lovely garden and virtual friendship through the wonder of blogging 🙂
Dee Nash
Thanks Kerri. I’ve never been disappointed in a salvia.~~Dee
Dee Nash
Hi Kerri, I feel the same way. Thank you. Salvias are easy to grow with good drainage. Roses not so much. 🙂 ~~Dee
@element321
Love the video. Such a great idea for a post. Your flowers always amaze me…
Dee Nash

nola @ alamonorth
That was a treat, loved it! I’ve never seen the black and blue salvia before, I love those colors together. The music was super, too!
Dee Nash
Thanks Nola. Why haven’t you been blogging lately? I miss your sweet voice.~~Dee
Jackie (Ellie Mae's Cottage)
Lovely post! It sure brightened up my dark, rainy day.
Dee Nash
Thanks Jackie. Anything to chase away the clouds right?~~Dee
Anna/Flowergardengirl
Bootiful Dee and loved the music.
.-= Anna/Flowergardengirl´s last blog ..Ever thought of putting Fur Balls in an arrangement? =-.
Dee Nash
Thank you Anna.~~Dee
Gail
Dee, hello! It was a good video and the music was great. I am laughing at your falling down house comment…gardening on a slope makes either the trees or house look crooked in photos! My zinnia have had it with the rain and have packed up and gone south! Have a good weekend. Gail
Dee Nash
Yes, Gail, I try to allow for that little photographic feature, but I can’t always make it work.~~Dee
Leslie
Wonderful video…you did a great job! And your garden is looking very happy…it’s impossible to choose a favorite.
Dee Nash
Yes, Leslie, it is so hard. I love whatever is in bloom.~~Dee
Mary Delle
The slide show was fun. Lovely to see what you have blooming in your garden on this day in October. Hurrah for salvia.
Dee Nash
Hurrah for salvias indeed. They carry us through two whole seasons and help the pollinators.~~Dee
LINDA from EACH LITTLE WORLD
Had to watch the video again when I realized I had my sound turned off. A definite boost on a cold rainy day which is what we’re having at my garden.
Dee Nash
Thanks Linda. Loved your book reviews at your blog.~~Dee
Nell Jean
Beautiful, all of it. Late roses are so special, all the other players have great supporting roles. Happy Bloom Day.
Dee Nash
Thanks Nell.~~Dee
Mr. McGregor's Daughter
Your garden is definitely enjoying the rain. I love it all, but especially the cute little Cupheas.
Dee Nash
MMD, those cupheas have been a huge hit with me this year. I’m even thinking about trying to overwinter them. I’ll let you know if I’m successful~~Dee
Susan aka Miss R
Love, love, love. Originality rules in OK! Thanks for this–I liked it so much better than just beauty shots.
Dee Nash
Thanks Susan. I try.~~Dee
Lisa at Greenbow
What a fun romp through your garden with the chirpy music to keep us all up beat.
Dee Nash
Thanks Lisa. I hope so.~~Dee
Liisa
What a lovely tour of your garden. Thank you also for identifying my gaillardia!
Dee Nash
Thank you Liisa, and you’re so welcome.~~Dee
Katie
LOVE the music! It is so jaunty! I don’t feel well, but found myself bopping to the cheerful beat while I watched it.
PS-the sunflower pic near the end is my fave. BRAVO!
Dee Nash
Thank you Katie. I’m glad you liked it. I love those Table Rock Mountain sunflowers. They are the best.~~Dee

What a creative way to write this post – lovely idea and even lovelier photos! Thanks for the tour of your beautiful garden!
Carol, May Dreams Gardens
That’s a great bunch of blooms in your garden. Inspiring to see all the roses.
It’s dreary here, too, and it does affect people’s moods. I want some sun!
Thanks for joining in for bloom day!
