April
The roofs are shining from the rain.
The sparrows twitter as they fly.
And with a wind April grace
The little clouds go by.
Yet the back-yards are bare and brown
With only one unchanging tree–
I could not be so sure of Spring
Save that it sings in me.

Thank you for this poem! Sara Teasdale is one of my favorite poets, and it is not easy to find books of her poems for sale so I save all I find on the internet.
Your blog is beautiful and a pleasure to read. I enjoyed my visit!
Spring has not really come to NYC as yet, so all your pretty pictures made me happy!
Hugs, Pat
Pat, virtual hugs right back at ‘cha. I hope spring will soon fling itself upon your landscape. Thank you for the kind words.~~Dee

No irises here…just a few dozen snowdrops (it keeps snowing on them!) That’s a lovely poem–I like Sara Teasdale’s work very much.
Thanks, Jodi, you’ll have irises soon.~~Dee
Louise
I love the irises. My garden has been all a twitter with the sparrows too. x
Hi Louise, I missed your comment ’til now. That photo of the irises was from last year. I was in a hurry and used it. Mine aren’t blooming yet.~~Dee
