It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Forget Christmas, for the time being . . . spring has sprung, and it is the most wonderful time of the year.

Foliage is showing.

Flowers are blooming.

Birds are singing and clucking.  The chickens are free to roam when we’re here to put them up at night.  In gratitude, or perhaps because it’s spring, they are laying eggs.  We’ve already eaten a lot of these and soon will be passing them out to friends.

Still quite tiny, these fit in a teacup.

Oh, and a little holiday called Easter is just around the corner this Sunday.  What will you be doing?

I’ll go to church, eat lots of good homemade things, and take in all the beauty around me.  In spring, I wake up grateful for every day.

Way better than Christmas, I agree. 🙂 We’re going to visit family in Georgia, and I’m excited to get to see my brilliantly wise and funny farmer grandfather for the first time in a few months. Have a wonderful Easter, Dee!

Hey, girlfriend! I recognize that teacup. How pretty to see it piled high with eggs.
    Happy Easter to you!

Oh, Debbie, I’m glad you stopped by and saw it.~~Dee

Yep, it’s finally here! I am so excited that we are suppose to have a warm/dry week! I will spend most of my time outside for sure. I love all your spring blooms. Mine are starting to come around also.
I must say, Rocky is beautiful! I had “dominecker” rooster but he kept fighting Rhett the Rhode Island rooster so I got rid of him. I hate to see roosters fight.
Looking forward to a wonderful Easter weekend with my little grandmunchkins and and those other people that have to tag along with them. haha!
    Enjoy your week!
    Kelly

Kelly, I love Dominiques, here called Dominckers. I had some once. My roosters don’t fight if they’re let outside regularly. Hope your week is great too.~~Dee

    Hi Dee,
So happy to see your garden is coming alive. It is a wonderful time of year. Especially because of our Easter celebration and what it means to us. Love those chickens and eggs… they are as pretty as any flower.

We’ll have all the family here for dinner after church on Sunday. We’ll eat outside on the back patio and all the kiddos will hunt Easter eggs in the back garden. Happy Easter and congratulations on your Lowe’s articles and blog. Sounds like a great opportunity and fun.

Oh yes it is the most wonderful time of the year. I wonder if I would appreciate spring so much if I didn’t have to deal with nasty old man winter first!

Spring, rebirth, Easter, definitely a wonderful time of the year. I keep taking pictures of the spring flowers, they are sometimes so fleeting. I’ll be going to church on Easter, too, and then my family will come to my house for lunch and a big Easter egg hunt.
