What are their little nightmares?
Me, with a .22 doing my best imitation of Annie Oakley. No, make that a double barrel over and under like John Wayne.

I would try to protect such beauties too! Great post, Dee!
Keep a gun at the ready all the time. Have killed 2 rattlesnakes this summer already. One on the porch and the other in the lawn. Racoons are awful little intruders! Wet in the panhandle also but oh soooo green!
I have always wanted to have chickens. Yours are beautiful.
I had to laugh at what popped up in answer to the title question. Your flock looks gorgeous! Glad you’re protecting them as best you can. 🙂
I’m imaging you doing a True Grit imitation. No rattlesnakes, please!
I love this picture. I am very amused at the image in my mind of you sitting in a lawn chair with a shotgun across your lap waiting for maurading racoons.
Oh dear. Racoons beware!
Good luck, Annie:)

HA! I’m envious of a friend of mine whose husband picks off chipmunks with a 22 stuck out the back window – afraid I’d freak out my neighbors here though:)
